Holocia comprises three companies: Nature Towns, Microbial Earth Farms, and Sunergie.
The word Holocia derives loosely from the Greek words for holistic and essence.

Founded by Karin Ascot and Patrick Van Haren - advocates of regenerative agriculture since 2004.

Nature Towns are new holistic, self-sustaining, organic regenerative farms with communities. Nature Towns designs and builds the town in collaboration with the home builders.

MEF stewards all the natural resources of the community, including:
the 240+ acres of green infrastructure operated as a master park with 7 miles of trails
the 32 pocket parks and 4 parks within the town,
the community gardens (one per residence),
on-site food production, and more.
Sunergie designs, builds and operates the electrical and mechanical systems for the community, including:
community geo-thermal loop,
a 5 MW solar microgrid + biomass,
community fiber optics (internet and telephone),
electric vehicle fleet, and more.
